Coltsfoot Leaf
CAD $6.50
Coltsfoot, known as “Tussilago farfara,” boasts a rich history rooted in ancient Roman and Native American cultures, with its use dating back over 2000 years. It is a member of the Compositae family, to which dandelions and sunflowers also belong. The flower is similar in appearance to a dandelion and forms a similar fluffy white seed head.
One of the first flowers to emerge in the spring, it often appears as early as February with bright sunny yellow flowers, making it perfect for springtime rituals. It welcomes the return of the sun and it’s long stems can be woven into wreaths. Depending on it’s bloom time one can use it for Spring Equinox, Easter, Imbolc, Vesna, Ostara, & Beltane
Alleged to increase psychic visions, it can be mixed with other divination herbs like as Acacia, Althaea, Angelica, Anise Seed, Bay Leaf, Bearberry, Camphor, Celery Seed, Dandelion, Dittany of Crete, Flax Seed, Peppermint, Mugwort, Poppy, Purslane, or Star Anise, and then burnt on charcoal when seeking communion with spirits or drawing in prophetic dreams.
Coltsfoot has been used as in love, tranquility and money spells and burned during healing rites.
