These slavic wood offering plates are perfect for offerings on your ritual space or altar.
Beautiful handmade plates from Ukraine that are either beautifully hand painted or wood burned and have been hand carved. Wood carving (різблення художне; rizblennia khudozhne) is a major decorative art in Ukraine and has been done for many centuries. The flowers are known as a form of Petrykivka painting. Everyday common people would carve wooden plates, spoons, bowls, canes, boxes, furniture, cards, sleds, gates, beams, and gables. This Ukrainian art form has distinctive features of flower patterns and brush techniques. It was commonly used to decorate house walls and everyday household items. The earliest known examples date from the 18th century, but it continues to thrive and develop as a modern art form.
