The burning of incense in Japan began in the 6th century with the introduction of Buddhism. Agarwood was imported from China via Korea. From that point on, incense would become an important facet of Japanese culture. Used for a variety of purposes, including Buddhist ceremonies, spirituality and meditation.

Samurai warriors would prepare for battle by purifying their minds and bodies with the incense of koboku. In the late 16th century, this aesthetic  would develop into the accomplishment known as kōdō. Which is the art of enjoying the incense of smouldering koboku. Many of the current incense companies have been in existence for more than 300 years.

These sticks are a combination of Pine Needles blended with a very mild Sandalwood powder

Burn Incense as offerings, to carry your wishes, desires, and when casting your spells. To attract things to you and for positive work, waft the smoke upwards towards yourself from bottom to top | toe to head. To expel or get rid of something in your life. Waft the smoke in a downwards motion from top to bottom | head to toe.
