Eve’s Sugar Apple ~ Vintage

Original price was: CAD $10.00.Current price is: CAD $5.00.

Let Eve’s sugar apple open your eyes and aid you in gaining wisdom and knowledge. These magical little Christmas ornament amulets are covered in a fine glass beads much like my vintage sugar candles.

Christian tradition holds that Adam and Eve ate an apple from the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden gaining knowledge. Although the forbidden fruit in the Book of Genesis is not identified, the apple now represents wisdom and the ability to reason.

In Medieval Germany alongside Christmas a festival called “Adam & Eve Day” was celebrated as some churches considered them saints. Germans decorated evergreen trees called paradise trees with apples. These represented the tree of forbidden fruit and later they were added to with wafers, candles, and pastries in the shapes of angels, flowers, hearts, and stars. These traditions spread throughout Europe.

These vintage apples were procured from an estate sale. Sadly, someone cut off the little strings that you hang them up with. I have tied twine around the tops so they can still be used.

You will receive 1 vintage apple ornament
