Even though these were mundane everyday use items in the household. The imagery of the cauldron over the fire was still synonymous with the archetype of the witch. The worldview at this time believed in magic, and the hearth was associated with strong spiritual connotations. In some slavic folklore it was said that the Domovoi resided here. He was thought to be the souls of deceased family members, making him a part of ancestor worship traditions. It’s no wonder cooking utensils such as spoons and cauldrons were thought to have mystical qualities.
This vintage cauldron can be used to burn incense sticks, cones, resin or loose incense on charcoal placed on a bed of sand.
Burn incense as offerings, to carry your wishes, desires, and when casting your spells. To attract things to you and for positive work. Waft the smoke towards yourself upwards from bottom to top | toe to head. To expel or get rid of something in your life. Waft the smoke in a downwards motion from top to bottom | head to toe.
