Butterfly-Pea Flower

CAD $10.00

Butterfly-Pea Flower is known for its transformation, love, protection, and serenity inducing properties. This flower is said to give mental clarity, reduce stress, sharpen the memory, and improve cognitive functions. It was said to clear the mind, just like how a river would smoothen stones, helping people to be focused and always think with a clear mental state.

Butterfly Pea has amazing transformative properties – it is very sensitive to acidity. When added to water to create a tea it releases a blue colouring. If you add something acidic like lemon juice or tonic water it will change colour to a vivid purple.

In Thai folklore a thousand and one years ago, when the creatures of the Himapan Forest still roamed among humans, there lived a woman called Isra. One night while she was sleeping Kinnari (half woman, half bird) came and beckoned her to follow. Together they flew through the starlit sky, over moonlit lotus ponds and ancient temples. They entered the Himapan forest and came to a flower that Isra had never seen before. “Take this with you back to the village and plant it in your garden next to the fence. It will give rest to anyone who sees it.” Isra did as Kinnari said and the plant grew beautiful blue flowers. One day Isra decided to make tea from them and enchanted all her neighbours by adding a squeeze of lime which turned the drink a pinky purple. And that is how we came to have Anchan Tea.”
