Buddhist Amitabha Sungkhor Amulet Pendant

CAD $20.00

Sungkhors (lit. “”protection-chakra””) are protective charms and amulets that contain miniature mandalas of specific deities folded and covered with intricate handwoven coloured string designs stipulated by vajrayana texts of the specific deities.

Believed to bring internal peace and good luck within one and family, in Tibetan Buddhism, Amitabha is red the colour of love, compassion, and emotional energy. He is known to protect beings from negative emotions of attachment, his unique emblem is the lotus associated with gentleness, openness, and purity. Known as the red Buddha of the west and the most ancient among the Five Dhyani Buddhas of the Vajrayana tradition. Amitabha means infinite light and he is also known as “Amitayus” or Buddha of the infinite life. Although all enlightened deities are perfect in their blessing qualities, each deity is often associated with a different enlightened quality. He is the purification of the afflictive emotion of desirous attachment which is the wisdom of discernment.
