This magical little Christmas Apple Ornament is amulet like. Let the apple ornament open your eyes and aid you in gaining wisdom and knowledge. Each red apple has a glossy plastic exterior, green satiny leaves, brown plastic stems with a gold hang thread.
Christian tradition holds that Adam and Eve ate an apple from the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden gaining knowledge. The forbidden fruit in the Book of Genesis was not actually identified. The apple now represents wisdom and the ability to reason.
In Medieval Germany alongside Christmas a festival called “Adam & Eve Day” was celebrated as some churches considered them saints. Germans decorated evergreen trees called paradise trees with apples. These represented the tree of forbidden fruit and later they were added to with wafers, candles, and pastries in the shapes of angels, flowers, hearts, and stars. These traditions spread throughout Europe.
