A book of fairy tales of the banned until recently Ukrainian writer Vasyl Koroliv-Old (1879-1941) about the so-called evil force, which, against generally accepted beliefs, does not cause people evil, but brings good. The book contains the stories “Unclean Power” or “Unclean Force”, “Huha-Mokhovynka”, “Poterchata”, “The Wolfhous Che”, “Litavitsa”, “Poor”, “Mavka-Verbinka”, “Mara”, “Dydydko”, “Pelesnyk”, “Dyudya”. “Potorocha hoarseness”, “Damn’s Thepper”, “Fisherman Mermaid”.

The collection in Russian is part of the “Tales We’ve been waiting for” series. The cycle includes only 10 books, “Unclean Force” – 5 in the series. Initially, the collection was not included in any cycles and was published by two publishers at once: The author (born in 1879 in Dikants in Poltava – died in 1941 in Prague) was a famous public and cultural figure, close to the government of the Central Council of the Directorate, who later went to political exile.

Year of publication: 1992
Cover type: soft Pages: 152

A wonderful book for all those interested in Ukrainian folk magic and witchcraft. Don’t be discouraged that it is written in Ukrainian. I find that in this wonderful age that the google translate app does a great job. When I don’t know a word or am having trouble translating a sentence I just hold up my phone and it live translates the page. See my pics to see how well it works!
