From Transylvania’s heart and Dracula’s home, the salt from Transylvanian‘s Salt Mines occurs in beds of sedimentary evaporated minerals. This is caused by large lakes and seas drying up millions of years ago when there was no pollution. The Rock Salt used in these lamps is natural, unprocessed, non-iodized, ie. without the form of artificial iodine added and without a trace of improves and anti-agglomerates – if it hardens, this is the main sign that it does not contain anti-agglomerates. The Turda Salt Mine in Romania is one of the oldest salt mines in the world. It was dug during medieval times for salt exploitation, with the first documented reference of the mine dating all the way back to 1271.
