In ancient Egypt the Scarab Beetle was a highly significant symbolic representation of the divine morning sun. The god Khepri was believed to roll the sun across the sky each day at daybreak just like some beetles who roll dung into balls. Ancient Egyptians believed this action was symbolic of the sun’s east to west journey across the sky. So the scarab was seen as a reflection of the eternal cycle of life and represented the idea of rebirth, regeneration, manifestation, and growth.

Baltic Amber is warm to the touch and often contains insect fragments. Contain the very essence of life itself – the animating principle. It had associations with time, cycles and longevity. As it once was a living substance, it is related to spirit. Slavic tribes thought it was magical and that it offered protection to the wearer because of its warm feel, lightness, and luster. Some believed amber was the petrified tears of gods. The ancient Greeks called amber “elektron,” noting its ability to generate static electricity when rubbed. Sometimes valued more highly than gold.
