Raspberry Leaf
CAD $6.50
Raspberry or “Rubus idaeus” means “bramble bush of Ida”. According to legend they were originally snow-white and highly favoured by the gods. The nursemaid caring for the infant Zeus pricked her finger on the thorns of the raspberry plant drawing blood. It dripped onto the berries and stained them red. As such, the raspberry is connected to protection, blood, feminine energy, and fertility.
Served as tea to induce love, it is also said to bring Good Luck in Marriage Matters and is associated with fertility. As are most plants whose fruits contain many seeds. It can also be carried by pregnant woman to alleviate the pains of pregnancy and childbirth. Dry the leaf and fruit to make a herbal amulet to protect and strengthen the female reproductive organs and pregnancy. Steeping the berries in wine and serving them to a lover will strengthen the relationship. When grown near a home or business it offers both physical and energetic protection.
Medicinal uses: Raspberry is known to have both astringent and stimulant properties which account for its ability not only to strengthen uterine muscles, but to tone pelvic muscles as well. Some of the many ailments that this herb can allay include burns, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, morning sickness, P.M.S., and sore throat.
