Fairy Tales of the Peoples of the World | Bajke Naroda Svijeta ~ Yugoslavia

CAD $75.00

Fairy Tales of the Peoples of the World | Bajke Naroda Svijeta ~ Serbo-Croatian is one of the most beautiful and visually distinct masterpieces of children’s literature from the former Yugoslavia.

The fairy tales were compiled and edited by Cveta Kotevska. The iconic surrealist visual identity was crafted by the renowned Serbian painter Milić od Mačve (Milić Stanković). The book was co-published in the late 1970s by three major regional publishing houses. Narodna knjiga (Belgrade), Makedonska kniga (Skopje), and Mladinska knjiga (Ljubljana).

The illustrations are not typical children’s drawings, but genuine surrealist fine art paintings. Filled with Milić’s signature style: floating logs, glowing horizons. Creating a beautiful blend of traditional Serbian motifs with cosmic fantasy.
