Baltic Amber Wolf Amulet Bracelet

CAD $125.00

The wolf is associated with greatness, self-confidence, bravery, danger, destruction, and wild untamed nature. Villagers respected the wolf, but mostly out of fear directly connected to the world and layers of the unconscious.

In Polish and Slavic folklore, werewolfism was often the result of a curse a witch casts on a man who does not reciprocate her feelings or an unfaithful lover. In Ukraine, Mothers who had unexpectedly seen a wolf, eaten meat from an animal killed by a wolf, or had been impregnated during a religious ban on sexual activity would turn into a werewolf. Powerful witches were said to shape-shift into a them. Processes for this differed, but one story involves the sorcerer leaping over knives placed on the stump of an ash tree (often one struck by lightning). In these cases, the change was temporary and one would simply do the ritual backward to shift back.

Baltic Amber Jewellery is associated with time, cycles, and longevity. As it was once a living substance, it’s related to spirit. These Amulets were worn to avert misfortune, for protection, and to keep one safe from black magic. They cast out devils, guarded against evil eye, brought luck in love, and made the owner stronger and cleverer. Warm to the touch and alleged to contain the very essence of life itself. People believed Baltic Amber “pulled out” diseases from the body and “attracted” good luck. Much in the same way it attracts small objects if you rub it.

This piece comprised of milky Baltic amber, hand carved Baltic amber wolf head, and dark red amber pieces that are so dark they appear black causing them to shape shift in natural sunlight much like a werewolf.
