Angels ~ Peter Lamborn Wilson

CAD $100.00

Vintage Hardcover – Oct 1 1983

Here is an astonishing collection of paintings, drawings, and sculpture of angels from every century and from every corner of the world. In this wide-ranging text, Wilson offers a feast for the eye which shows how angels have acted as intermediaries between humans and the divine–in many varied spiritual traditions. 120 illustrations, 16 in colour.

Illustrates hundreds of paintings, drawings, and sculptures from all corners of the world, revealing that angels play an important role not only in Judaism and Christianity but also in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam
The cover image conveys the character and mood within. A wonderful study, yes, but a also broad, multi-cultural history of iconography. I commend the author/editor’s selection of images – profoundly beautiful, many I have never viewed. This book was more than I was expecting, richer, deeper, and so much more sophisticated, in my opinion, than many of the “angel” genre books out there. I feel I’ve found a treasure.
